Nope! While we do treat many littles with varying diagnosis, a specific diagnosis is not needed to seek guidance with your child’s motor skills! If you have any concerns, doubts or questions about your child’s development we highly recommend scheduling a consult. We can help provide some tips and tricks to get your little moving!

Maryland is a direct access state meaning you do not need a doctor's prescription to begin services. However, some insurance plans may require a referral or prescription for coverage.
To ensure your child receives the necessary care without delays, check with your insurance provider. If a prescription is required, your child’s pediatrician can provide one.

During the evaluation and follow-up sessions, we will conduct a comprehensive full-body assessment of your child. This includes evaluating their range of motion, measuring any head shape asymmetries, observing their movement patterns, and understanding how they interact with their environment. If warranted, we may perform a developmental assessment as well. Based on that, we will provide personalized strategies and exercises for you to incorporate at home, supporting your child in reaching their developmental goals.
At the end of your appointment, your therapist will provide recommendations for follow-up and help you schedule.

Yes! Our head shape consultation, milestone check-in and therapy services all have virtual and in-person options. If your family is located within the state of Maryland, we can provide a superbill if requested.
We are unable to provide a superbill if you are located outside of Maryland due to licensing restrictions. Please contact us at hello@kidsfirstpt.com for more information.

We are proud to be in-network with Maryland Medicaid and CareFirst/BCBS for our therapy services. For all other insurance providers, we are considered an out-of-network provider. However, we are happy to provide a detailed medical receipt, known as a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
As a courtesy, we can help verify your in-network or out-of-network benefits and provide an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs.
At Kids First, we are committed to making therapy accessible. If the cost of services presents a financial challenge for your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hello@kidsfirstpt.comto explore flexible payment options.
